Sliding Cards
1. Make card body, following the pattern. Score and fold the card, but do not glue together yet. Copy the pattern so that it fits on an 8 x 10 piece of cardstock.
2. Cut
a 10 ½ x 1 ¼” strip of plastic grocer bag. Wrap around notched section and
adhere the ends together (strip should be snug, but be able to slide easily back
and forth). 3. Cut 2 rectangles
of cardstock. Adhere one rectangle to the front side of the plastic strip.
Adhere a gift card or message. 4. Adhere remaining
rectangle to back side of the plastic strip. Use the coluzzle circle template to
cut 2 notches on the left side that you can use to pull out one of the cardstock
papers inside. The other cardstock piece will pop out the other side! 5. Assemble the card body, adhering the 3/8” folded edge to the inside of the card. 6. Decorate card front as desired. I sponged the edges of a piece of floral paper with Cocoa ink and attached it to the front. Then I tied a knot of organdy ribbon around the right side. I stamped a saying from the Because of You stamp set and put it on the inside left of the card. Easy, easy, easy! The left side is perfect for a gift card, party information, baby announcement info or photo etc. There are lots of great occasions for these fun sliding cards! |
